What is the name of your state? Florida

I was, until very recently, a member of a social group that meets monthly at a local restaurant, and who also have a public Y-group or forum. Recently, someone with an axe to grind posted an extremely vicious attack against me by name. This post was full of half-truths and flat-out lies. I have always enjoyed a reputation of integrity and leadership, both within this local group and also statewide. Now my reputation has been badly damaged. The "governing" steering committee has long held that personal attacks are not and have never been tolerated on this e-group, and they have enforced this rule many times. However, despite several requests, they have steadfastly refused to remove this slanderous material.

I have no desire to recover any monetary damages, but I do want this garbage removed. Do I have a legal recourse? What is the name of your state?
