In Pennsylvania. A piece of property was split in 1880 landlocking a piece. In 1898 the owner of the landlocked piece purchased an adjoining property gaining access and using the landlocked property as part of his total parcel. In 1948 and through 1972 the owners pieced out and sold all the property adjoining the landlocked parcel. The landlocked parcel was sold to absentee owners in 1948 and the adjoining property sold after that. Now the landlocked parcel owners want access through the original (1880) split off piece even though the piece was not landlocked from 1898 to 1972. The 1880 deed makes no mention of any easement. HELP.

I am being sued for access to the landlocked property. I am the property owner. I have owned the land he wants access through for 13 years.

Next time say so. You wrote your post in the third party.
I don't see what the problem is. Just give them access. What's so hard about it.

The hard part is we own 135 acres with a campground right where he wants access through. It's a distance of about 3/4 of a mile through our property and would ruin our business and there is no other possible place on the property to give him access. He wants to start out with a logging operation and then mining for Pennsylvania Bluestone. Heavy trucks coming and going all day would ruin our business.
