OHIO. I sold a 1998 Chevy truck on Ebay to a verified seller with many positive feedbacks, I also have almost 200 positive feedbacks. They picked up the car in Ohio to drive home to Pennsylvania. No questions were asked, no inspection, we traded the title for CASH, and we parted that day. The next day, they call and relay that they're broke down 3 hrs. away. The driver the car was bought for is supposed to be a mechanic, and says it spun a gear, and it makes a knock noise. So they parked it. Now they are approaching me to have it fixed. What are my obligations to this buyer. There is absolutely no fraudulant fixes, no noises, nothing was wrong when they left. If they weren't happy when leaving, they could have refused to pay. My heart goes out to these people. They're also asking for me to claim a lost title because the mechanic didn't have his social security card, so someone else signed the title at the DMV. This sounds shady to me. Would anyone share what they would do in my position, and if they were the buyer. They can pursue reparations on Ebay? Legal Action?

Refer them to Caveat Emptor.

They should have inspected the car before paying and leaving.

It's out of your control at that point, and you have no way of knowing - maybe the car is just fine.

It's just like shipping - once I walk out of the post office, I am done - same thing. They paid, they drove off.
Done deal
