I sold a used authentic copy of office 2003 professional on ebay. I didn't sell it as new or anything like that. The original product key sticker was destroyed but I had obtained a replacement from Microsoft that is unused and legitimate. In the auction I did promise a unused legit key.

Anways, I get payment so I shipped it out right way thinking this was over with and it'd be another positive feedback point - but I get this e-mail from the buyer telling me it is a federal offence to sell any piece of software without the original Certificate Of Authenticity and that either I'm going to give him a refund or he's going to turn me into eBay, PayPal, and the police (he is local to me).

Is this guy full of it and trying to pressure me into a refund or have I really done something wrong?

I delivered on all promises of the auction and made it clear that all sales are final.
