What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California.
I paid about 300 through PayPal to an eBay supplier based in Hackensack NJ.
When the goods arrived, the box did not show any significant evidence of impact so we accepted it.
On opening the box, the main items were found to be damaged and would not work. I have photos and witnesses of the damage.
Also some software items were missing and the shipping charge was more than quoted in their eBay store.
I informed the sellers who said, return the faulty items for them to evaluate.
I returned the units in the original packing, asking for replacements, and after a delay they responded as follows.

Quote [ The units were not returned in the condition sent. There were stickers attached to the bottom of the cases. Your return has been refused. What would you like me to do with the items? ] Unquote.

I reported this to PenPal and eBay who each said my claim was outside their time limit rules and they would do nothing.

I then asked the vendor for my money back plus 25 dollars to cover my shipping costs for returning the damaged goods.
He has not replied.

What should I do next ?

Go to New Jersey and sue the person.
Sounds reasonable,
Can I do this remotely rather than visit NJ in person.
Who pays the cost of raising the suit, or can I do it my self?
GW.

Since no one else would say it, yes there are "legal enterprises" that will file and represent you in another state. I guess I'm not supposed to name any of them (now, isn't that helpful), so I won't. Do a search under "legal advice", or "paid" legal advice rather than "free" legal advice. There's lots of lawyer referrals or services out there. Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that either? Maybe someone from this site will file your case for you ;)

And maybe you won't be here long enough to worry about it.
