I am taking a MAT 81 college course. I am completely disappointed with this class. Im expected to be taking calculus in 2 years but how am if im not even being taught basic algebra in MAT 81. The course is designed to take 2 1hr 20 mins class where the professor copies the workbook onto the board and we answer the question. He does not teach. On top of that each student is to complete a quiz first then a homework assignment for each chapter. As backwards as it sounds thats how it is.

Today I took a the same quiz 3 times and i kept getting 3 questions wrong. So I reviewed the quiz to work on what I was doing wrong. On the quiz you are able to see your answered compared to the correct one if its wrong. It was showing a complete different answer from the correct one I gave. I took pictures and emailed my professor. He quickly responded and changed my grade. Now Im not only concerned about myself but the other students using mymathlab that are receiving false grades. What should I do?

Doing the quizzes and homework assignments means you are learning.

I'll admit that I'm concerned about our educational system when someone who is (apparently) in a four year college (based on the statement that OP is to take Calc in two years), and is requiring Algebra classes. Uuuummm... Didn't you take that in HS?

In any event... an important part of college is actually being able to learn on your own. MANY (if not most) classes involved work done on your own, then discussed, dissected and rehashed in class. You know... independent thinking and sharing of ideas. Not to say you have a great prof - he should pretty well tell y'all to be working the problems on your own, so you can discuss solutions. But he's basically spoonfeeding the class - and y'all still aren't getting it.

agreed. And if you aren't getting the problems in one book, you can always ask the professor if there are alternative books you can try. Or, you can get on Amazon or Textbook.com and find an Algebra Text to supplement your learning.

But I WOULD be concerned if the computer guided study has the wrong answers. You SHOULD report that, and I would suggest you and your classmates see the professor during his office hours, and go through each assignment and make sure you got the correct grades. That means you need to be proactive in this situation.
