What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Texas

Can I sue a public university or an employee of that university for educational malpractice? I'm in a graduate program and my academic advisor ill-advised me on which courses to take in order to graduate in a timely manner. I will now have to attend and pay for school for additional semesters that I would not have needed had I been properly advised.

I seriously doubt it. It's your responsibility to ensure that your coursework lines up with the requirements. Especially by the time you're at the graduate level.

No. You should have looked at your own degree plan and asked questions and gotten your classes taken care of. Your "advisor" advises, but you are the one responsible for your degree.
