I have worked for the postal service for eleven years. I can retire in May of 2001 with full benefits. In January of 1999, a tyrant was promoted to the position of postmaster at this office. His methods are divisive and threatening. We have reported his actions but upper management seems to be protecting him. Last week an employee ran from his office yelling that the postmaster was going to hit him. Police reports were filed but the inspection service has not contacted any witnesses. It seems as if this postmaster is doing the investigation. He has required all employees who were in the office to furnish him with written statements. This is not the first time he has been reported for such behavior. He regularly harasses the three senior carriers in our craft. He would like to run us off and hire younger, faster (his words) people to replace us. They would also be cheaper. However, he is not really interested in saving money. There is one younger woman, married, who keeps company with him on and off the clock. On December 2, she was at his house, washing his truck, while she was on the clock at the post office. I have pages and pages of notes on this man's behavior. How do I write a successful EEO complaint for hostile environment?

Don't you have a Union? If so, they can help you, big time, and protect your identity from what will surely be attempts at further reprisal. Also, you maight be better off to separate the abuse of USPS assets (the paramour on USPS time) from the manangement issues and abuse.
