What kind of info do you need to prove financial elder abuse?

My father died 12/2002 and mother dies 08/2003, the life insurance money that my mother received went into her bank account, my sister managed to spend every dime of the money in a year. She claims it was for mothers expenses, yet mother was only in her home for 4 months then spent the last 4 months of her life in Hospice House, who my sister said she was paying, yet she has never paid them a dime, i found an bank record, showing where my sister wrote out checks for her own mortgage car etc, and forged my mothers name on the checks, once the money was gone she would no longer handle probate and was removed by the judge and i was appointed PR, we are to have a final settlement hearing on the probate, to hopefully make her pay back what she has spent from the estate. I am interested in going after her for financial abuse against my mother, what type of info should i get, i believe i can get copies of bank statements (she trashed the originals) an maybe checks, but i have no idea where to start!!

Start with consulting with an attorney who will advise you what records are required and if the statute of limitations has expired. These cases require legal counsel.
