What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california
I think my 89 yr old father is being taken advantage of. He was in great health physically & mentally as of 09/29/2012. He moved in with his 74yr old "girlfriend" separate rooms no sex, she wont unless she is married! As of early 11/2012 he was bed ridden, we were never notified until my brother went to visit and found out. end of 11/2012 he was admitted into hospital because he fell. Now he is in assisted living in Palm Springs calif. all of us children live in the bay area, he is paralyzed from the waist down & his left arm, partial use of right arm. . We want to move him here but he is adamant about staying in Palm Springs. He gives his GF 1000.00 a month for rent plus additional funds. All of his personal & family belongings are in her house and as of today he said there is a bookshelf & pictures if we want to pick them up. He has/had much much more, but said he has given them to her. I am the executor of his will. We believe she is using him & brain washing him. He was scheduled for surgery early this month on a Tuesday and we found out in error the Saturday before because his GF accidentally told my sister. Fortunately we did find out, we spoke with the surgeon & found out the surgery could have left him completely paralyzed unable to eat, talk.So we explained it to my dad and he agreed not to have it done. I asked him at our last visit if he has added/deleted anyone from his will he advised no. She has POA over medical decisions if he is not capable & I am not available. What are our options, what can we do.

I'm not sure that I see any financial abuse here. While he may have physical disabilities, you have not said anything indicating that he would be considered legally incompetent. And it sounds like he is still capable of making his own decisions.

You can certainly approach him about revoking the medical POA he granted to his girlfriend. And granting medical and financial power to you.
