A 37 year old woman had gotten about $200k in cash from my 80 year old father in 1 1/2 years, using some intimidation, before he asked me for help. Of course she blew all the money on God knows what-but it wasn't the 6 years of back child support she owes. He gave me POA and immeadiately started fighting me about getting rid of this woman, and even wanted me to talk to her about money management!! He has threatened to revoke the POA disinherit me if I don't pay her bills and he is sneaking her money on the side. All this after he addmitted she's an extortionist! When I wrested him from her clutches he was in horrific shape. I took him to a specialist who said he was totally incompetent, but since I've been taking care of him, he's been getting better every day. I initiated guardianship procedures, but now his memory is better than mine. To top it off, in order that he doesn't lose this "jewel" ,he is thinking of marrying her! He'll probably end up eating out of a dogfood bowl while she's out partying. Do I just drop all this hassle and just let him have his precious criminal to gut his estate, or fight to the bitter end? Could I win in court. Personally I doubt it.
