UTILITIES AND FRAUD

I live in Bergen County , NJ. A private home--rented
I live on the first floor and the landlord lives on the top.
And there is an apt in the middle. (The house was converted into 3 apts.)
And I think I am paying for more than mine share of gas and electric
My bill is very high for just 4 1/2 rooms ($200 plus for one month).
Many nights and days I refuse to turn on the heat because
I feel that the landlord and his family heating system is
connected to my heating system. I have a therm. He claims
he uses oil to heat his apt., and I have the themostat to heat my apt. Also, he also claims that my gas bill is high due to the fact that I have my own furnace to I heat my own water. I beleive this is questionable, two separate heating
systems to heat water? Don't forget the house was converted into 3 apts.

How can I find out if my landlord is hook up to my heating.
I need advice from someone please!!!!!

While I am not a lawyer, I went throught he same thing you are going through. It turned out that I was paying for a portion of the other apartment's electric bill, which happened to be my landlord's daughter.
If I was you, I would hire an HVAC guy to look at things, and tell your landlord you want to do that.
Good luck to you!
