Can a business deny health insurance to an employee solely because that person is covered by their spouse's policy? The business is in Michigan. The business provides health insurance to employees who are not covered by their spouse. The business offers nothing in lieu of health insurance.

To my knowledge employers are free to provide the type of coverage that you mentioned. Your laws in Michigan are likely different than here in California where I practice. You may want to consult with a labor law attorney near you. You can find one at attorneypages.com.
