She has sent them to my wife, boss and coworkers causing the damage you can imagine. besides the shame, my wife is most likely to leave me.
1/ Can my boss fire me over this event ?
2/ Anything I can do to protect myself ?
3/ Is what she did really illegal, and since she is in a foreign country anything I can do to get back to her.

I believe CA is an at will state which means you can get fired over anything so yes unless you have a contract. And if you do have a contract do you have a morals clause? Because if you do have a contract and it has a morals clause then you have a major problem.

Don't cheat on your wife. EVER! Oh wait, you already did that. Go get tested for STDs and make sure your wife gets tested. Wear a condom every time you have sex.

That depends. Where were you when she taped you having sex with her. In a foreign country? Well then we can't answer. Did you know she was taping you? Then not a problem. She doesn't need your permission to send copies to your wife, boss or the news media if she wants. It is not nice but it is not necessarily illegal.

Unless she asked for something in exchange, it's not really blackmail. And whether it was legal to make the tapes will depend on the law in whatever country you two were screwing around in. But, realistically, you aren't going to be able to do anything to her.
