And even states which are more favorable to emancipation are not likely to emancipate a 14 year old.There are only a couple of states that emancipate 14 year olds. Georgia isn't one of them.
I, too, would like to hear about the income that allows a 14 year old to support him/herself.
By the way, if your income is "yours" because you are receiving a check from the government due to the loss of a spouse and/or child support that you think belongs to you and not to the parent you are living with, you are completely and utterly wrong.
I live in Georgia. The last time there was a meaningful number of teens emancipated in Georgia was 2005... and 12 children were emancipated. Not 12 hundred or 12 thousand... 12.
That was due to a loophole that has now been closed. Georgia is VERY anti-emancipation.
