My response:

Why? So they can take care of you because you're not doing a good job on your own? Gee, isn't this all you've ever wanted to do? And you want to go back to those nasty people?

I wouldn't take you back "on a bet".

Broken hearted Mom

undefined have a legal question about my parental obligation to my 18 year old son. I live in New York State. According to my research, my husband and I have to support my son until he is 21. He left the house free-willed. He refused to come back. He is currently in high school and will graduating in June 2005.

We are supplying medical insurance, clothes, and school supplies. After he graduates, the support will stop.

He refuses to visit or speak to us. He left the house in rebellion and did not want to follow the basic household rules. He is welcome to come back, but I do not think it will happen.

My question is do I have to pay child support or support if he receives welfare benefits. My husband ( his father) and I are married. Does support mean that I am reasonable for any of his bills. My son made his bed and need to lie in it.

Thank you,

If you start your own thread, you have a better chance of getting an answer. You should probably post it in the "Child Custody" section, too. Not juvenile law.

Since you've not given any information, how would we know whether it's a good idea or not?

However, in my opinion in about 99 cases out of 100, emancipation is NOT a good idea for teens. Odds are that your situation is going to be in the 99 and not the 1.

Strike a pose
Strike a pose
Vogue, vogue, vogue
Vogue, vogue, vogue

Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It's everywhere that you go [look around]
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know [life that you know]

When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It's called a dance floor, and here's what it's for, so

CHORUS:
Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music
[move to the music]
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow [go with the flow]
You know you can do it

All you need is your own imagination
So use it that's what it's for [that's what it's for]
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door [open up the door]

It makes no difference if you're black or white
If you're a boy or a girl
If the music's pumping it will give you new life
You're a superstar, yes, that's what you are,
you know it

Come on, vogue
Let your body groove to the music
[groove to the music]
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow [go with the flow]
You know you can do it

Beauty's where you find it
Not just where you bump and grind it
Soul is in the musical
That's where I feel so beautiful
Magical, life's a ball
So get up on the dance floor

CHORUS

Vogue, [Vogue]
Beauty's where you find it
[move to the music]
Vogue, [Vogue]
Beauty's where you find it [go with the flow]

Greta Garbo, and Monroe
Deitrich and DiMaggio
Marlon Brando, Jimmy Dean

Grace Kelly; Harlow, Jean

Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire
Ginger Rodgers, dance on air

They had style, they had grace
Rita Hayworth gave good face
Lauren, Katherine, Lana too
Bette Davis, we love you

Ladies with an attitude
Fellows that were in the mood
Don't just stand there, let's get to it
Strike a pose, there's nothing to it

Vogue, vogue

Oooh, you've got to
Let your body move to the music
Oooh, you've got to just
Let your body go with the flow
Oooh, you've got to

emancipation

hi! my name is Tabetha. i am wanting to get emancipated from my mother in the state of Florida. ok i am looking for help on how to do this. she has a background of drug use but not at the moment. to everyone in the world she is perfect. except that she has never been a mother to me until now she is trying to punish me and thats all. i do not live with her, and when i have it's never for long. she has ruined my grades by moving me around so much in my life. well actually all i want to know is what i have to do to get emancipated with out haveing her to sign something, because when i tell her how i feel and whati am wanting to do (emancipation) she threatens to take everything away and move me to her house so that she can make sure that nothing like that is possible for me to do. please help.thanks

Parents must agree to their child's emancipation, and even then there is a slim chance you'll get it anyway. Emancipation is not the solution or gateway to a better life, it's a shortcut to adulthood with heavy burdens such as money, job, roof over head, food in belly, clothes on back, insurances, transportation, education, bills, taxes, responsibilities beyond what any teen have experienced. It means having to fully support yourself in a home of your own without financial help from anyone.
