What is the name of your state? Indiana

My relative is facing potential prosecution. He worked for a financial firm and as a broker, was stealing money from relatives' mutual funds. He forged signatures and withdrew over $30,000. The firm he work for found out and had him sign a confession statement and he was fired. This was several months ago. He got a new job and is trying to make restitution to the firm's insurance company. Now it looks like he is facing prosecution. What will or could happen to him? Could he ever work using his SEC license again? Is he looking at jail? Please respond because I am worried sick.

The fraud and embezzlement are both Class D felonies. The maximum fine for a Class D felony is $10,000.

Worried why? Don't you think wrongdoers need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? What about the people he cheated? Gee whiz!!
