What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

I am the only employee for my company that works in Pennsylvania. As a result of this fact, the owner of my company informed me during the first week of January that there was too much paperwork to do for just one person in PA. From now on I am going to be a consultant and I will be paid my gross pay. If I have to pay the employers half of SS taxes, no longer qualify for workmans compansation and if I wait long enough to do anything about this, I will probably loose my right to unemployment insurance altogether. Do I have to accept these changes to my status? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
