i recently quit my job where my boss told me i was a contractor to get out of having to pay his part of my taxes, social security, etc. i received a 1099 every year and always had to pay in estimated taxes. he provided me a place to work, equipment to work with, jobs to do, made my hours, and paid me by the hour. how can he call me a contractor and is there a way to get back the taxes and other money that i had to pay out??

My response: there is an IC test both State and Federal.
