What is the name of your state? New Jersey

My mother has been working for a local pharmacy for 10 years as a part time employee. She works a minimum of 25 hours per week and receives less pay in lieu of fully paid medical insurance. The pharmacy was sold in March and my mother received a letter yesterday from the insurance company that the new owners cancelled the employees health coverage back in May. The new employers gave no indiciation that this would occur nor did they give any notice that the insurance was no longer available. Do the employees have any recourse?

Sorry, but no. The new owners can cancel the medical plan if they wish to. It's truly lousy on their part that they never communicated that to the employees though.

Did the company cancel health insurance for all the employees or just the part-time employees?
