What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

After my short term disability ran out, I took a medical leave of absence until my long term disability started. There is a 26 week "waiting period" for eligi ility. I signed up for LTD through my employer, and premiums were deducted from my paycheck. Per the plan, my health insurance and life insurance are provided at no cost to me during my disability. However, I have begun receiving the monetary payments, but my employer has not reinstated my health and life insurance plans. I have gotten the run around and although they (my employers benefit specialists) tell me it is being "worked on", I have not gotten my insurance. I need to see a doctor and cant afford continued treatment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You're absolutely certain that your health insurance is supposed to be continued at no cost to you during your LONG TERM disability? How much time have they been working on it? It takes at least a couple of business days to resolve issues like that.

Delayed No More!

Yes, I read through the Plan Summary and it specificaly states as a benefit.."continued Basic Life Insurance and healthcare insurance at no cost to you". My employer finally called me yesterday, (it has been 4 weeks since I became eligible, and was told that they are working on it) and advised that it has been reinstated and it would be retroactive to the eligibility date. It was a daunting process. Thanks for your response!
