What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

What is best way to get a good check from employer?

The employer has given a bounced check twice for paycheck purposes. Want to ensure a good check is given for final paycheck.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Agreed with the DOL complaint, but I'd simply ask for cash first. It's not an unreasonable request after 2 bounced checks.

MD DOL, that would be Maryland Department of Labor. No, a complaint has not been filed yet. The employee did not want to file a complaint, just wants the final paycheck to be made good now.

I don't blame the employee, but the employer isn't required to agree. The employee has not been effectively paid; he should file the claim as previously advised.

The employer is not legally required to pay the employee cash just because the employee requests it.

The only way the employee can legally force the employer to provide a "good" cheque is via an order from the MD DOL.

Update: just wanted to let you know that check was made good and bank removed all charges. Your help is appreciated.
