What is the name of your state? Texas

I personally pled guilty to a state jail felony, punishment was Class A Misdemeanor 12.44 (b).

The official court paper that i recieved shows

Class A Misdemeanor 12.44 (b)

is this what employers will see? just the court record?

All background checks are not created equal. What an employer will see depends a great deal on how deep they dig.

And who they are.

If they are a private company, they'd probably see the misdemeanor conviction (hell you can go to one of those $19 background check and pull your own file if you like).

If they are the government in a sensitive area, they may see your misdemeanor and call up the police department and ask for details.

let me try agian.

I was convicted of a state jail felony.

i basically pled guilty to it. so there-fore i am a felon

howeve in texas it is possible to use the 12.44 (b) which basically gives me a felony conviction but a class A misdemeanor punishment.

now the question i am asking is. Does a background check dig up my court record? or does it also dig up something else that would show that it was indeed a felony. The court record shows

degree of offense:
class a misdemeanor-sec 12.44(b) PC

now the court record does not have "STATE JAIL FELONY" written on it, which i believe would help loads in finding a job.

what i'm worried about is something else showing up that shows that says FELON.
