Please pardon any errors below. I'm a newbie.

Here is my problem. Any assistance anyone can provide would be helpful.

I agreed to work with a company (via email -- essentially, they asked me if I was "in or out", and I said I was "in") and proceeded to produce a logo for this company.

Before any employee documents were signed, before any compensation plan was developed, before anything was put in front of me in regards to a formal agreement to be their employee -- I decided that it was in my best interest to stay away from these people.

The problem is, they are now using the logo that I designed as their own. I've requested that it be removed from their website and from their marketing materials... and I've essentially been told to piss off and that they are going to use the logo as-is.

Again, the only thing formally tying me to this company was an email in which I said I would work with them. Other than that, no other specifics of any kind had been outlined.

Do I have an way of keeping them from using my work as their own?

Again, thanks everyone for your help.
