we suspected that our neighbor had built his
pole barn over halfway on our property. When
we approached him on the matter, he said that
he realized it when it was being framed in.
Since, he will not talk to us. We had the property surveyed and the building is approximately 25-30 feet on our property. Since, he has decided to put up a new house and has pushed stumps and trees on our property. We wish him to remove the building and stumps, what recourse do we have on this matter? Even after he knew that he was on our property he continued sinking money into the pole barn to finish it. Please help, we fear we will have to take him to court over the matter. Does the court usually make you sell the property? This is very valuable lakefront property. Thanks in advance for your help.

If he built on your land there he probaly has 2 choices. Buy the land from you, or take down the encroaching property. But only a court can make him do the latter. I'd have a lawyer send him a lawyer's letter as it says you mean business if you can't do it on yor own.
