I was just curious, how long does a "preliminary" period of litigation usually last? Is there a Motion to proceed to trial that can be filed?

The attorneys for the other side are trying very hard to drag the action out as long as possible, and avoid a trial by filing desparate preliminray objections to everything from the way a signature looks, to the way the caption is organized.

Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

Thanks

Don't know when you filed, but my civil case was filed 11/2004. in OH.
This is a smaller case I would say in comparison, not against a business.
Prem. Obj. took until 09/2005
Now were beginning depositions soon.
Just to give you a time frame idea.

Yep. Talk with your attorney.
I feel like both attorneys are interested in pushing worthless papers around... thats how they get paid.

I would like to approach my lawyer with something concrete like "File a motion to blah blah" so we can have a hearing already.

Thanks for info.

Then get off your ass and contact your attorney. Tell him to stop the games and proceed to trial. But then..... why do I feel you have already done that and didn't like the answer you got? :D

I am honestly just trying to see what other options are out there. By saying "talk to your lawyer" you are really not answering my question.

But it is the only REASONABLE answer that we can give. We have NO information on your case specifics. We have NO information on where you are in the legal process. We have NO information on why they are filing objections. We have NO information on why your attorney has not taken their objections before the bench for resolution.... only YOUR attorney can answer those questions, presuming that he/she has far more information on your case then we do. In any case, your attorney works for YOU... so it is up to YOU to tell your attorney to move forward or explain why not. Pretty simple, really. :D
