Engagement Ring

I am now living in Michigan. I proposed to a girl in Indiana after 6 months of dating. Obviously a ring was involved (approximately $5,000). About a month later, we moved to Michigan. Within a week of moving I was physically punched three times within two weeks. This capped off a few months of objects being thrown at me and mental torment. I grabbed my dogs and what belongings that I could and moved out. It has now been about three months since I moved out. Do I have any claim to my ring (the engagement ring) ?

Where can I read about Michigan law regarding small claims on this subject?

It is a common question and my response is to sue her in small claims court. Regardless of the state laws on the issue (which are confusing), Small Claims is cheap, quick and easy and you have nothing to lose.
