What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Illinois

I just bought a used car from a dealership on August 2, 2005. On August 18, my husband was coming back from a trip in Michigan and threw a rod. The mechanic said the engine block is ruined and we need a whole new engine at a cost of $5,000.00. We only paid $7,000.00 for the car eight hundred miles earlier!! The dealership said there is nothing that they can do because we bought the car "As Is" and did not buy a warrenty.

Do I have any recourse in getting my money back or am I out of luck?
