I am currently leasing a property in Kent, OH. The landlord, who works for a national real estate company, did not repair the many things we had asked for to be repaired. I went ahead and desposited the rent into an escrow account. It is nearing the second deposit into the escrow account and still haven't heard from my landlord. Does this mean that they will not make the repairs? Can the landlord take the rent out of escrow without my knowing? I am also in a bind because I need to be able to live in this residency about one month after the initial 1 year lease is over due to the fact that my new place of residency isn't available when I would need it. Would it be smart of me to just take the rent out of escrow for fear my landlord won't grant me a month to month lease when i need it?

Thanks

You may already be too late.

If I were you, I would go to meet with the landlord personally and see what you can work out. Offer to take the money out of escrow unconditionally. Be sure to say please.
