What is the name of your state? Texas

How do you obtain proof that the Estate of a person has not been closed?

And where can you obtain a copy of the federal estate tax closing letter concering federal estate taxes due from the estate?

Thank You

The letter comes from the IRS.

Do you know for certain that an estate has not been closed or are you just asking a hypothetical question? Are you the executor?

Check the county courthouse probate court records about the status of the estate--if you need documetation that the estate is still open, perhaps you could get a letter from the judge.
