What is the name of your state? DE
A parent recently (3yrs) passed and had some holding invested through a financial holder. We could not find the certidicates but have all the dividend statements, etc., Have been trying to get the to acknowledge holdings and cooperate in transferring or liquidating to no avail. About at wits end. What local, state, federal recourses are there and wohm to consult??

Has probate been opened?

If it has, who is the estate's Personal Representative?

.....had some holding invested through a financial holder.
That is awfully vague. Are they publicly traded seurities? Held by a broker?

Most people do not have actual stock certificates, they are held by the broker in the broker's street name. Unless someone is named as beneficiary or time of death recipient, probate should handle that with the rest of the estate.
