my state is florida. i recently brought a camera into a camera shop for an estimate of repair for a "stuck shutter" the clerk wrote on the receipt "estimate 1st". when i hadn't heard anything from the camera man a week and a half later, i called. the clerk stated he would be in the next day. i called the next day and the camera man stated nothing had been done yet be he would call me the next day with the information. i again stated i wanted an estimate before any work was done. the camera man called me the next day as promised but told me the work had been done and the charge would be $50.00. i asked him why since there was a written and verbal request for an estimate first, was the work done. he replied he thought it was worth it. where do i stand. am i responsible for this unauthorized repair?
thanks.
