Just tonight was isssued an eviction notice(30 days) for no reason at all--have never been late with rent for over 5 yrs..and for the last 3 has auto.deposited from my account to landlords,,But sence november has raised my rent 100.00 dollars-and takes bank 30 days to make changes..landlords think I have been not trying to pay...But I have a written not from the bank stating the time the transaction takes-just yesterday--01-09-2001-----Can they make me move for this reason?I have never had any other complaints of any Kind!??

Since you are in California:

Yes, they can make you move unless:

1) You are under rent control with a just cause eviction requirement. or

2) You have a lease. or

3) You can convince them to let you stay.

He probably got his electric and gas bill and the $100 a month raise WAS NOT ENOUGH

So unless you maybe offer him at least $50 a month more and see what he says...he has legitimate big increases in the price of gas and oil to heat yourplace.
