I have a couple of questions in one. First of all my daughter's best friend was molested by her stepfather and my daughter had to testify because we dropped by to borrow a pair of shoes. (teenagers always exchange clothes). The defense atty's wife questioned several of my daughter's friends of course to discredit my daughter I'm sure. But, what I want to know is can they tell out and out lies? Our pickup was stolen a couple of yrs ago and the atty's wife told one of my daughter's friends that my daughter got 3 boys from the east side of town to lie and say they stole it, when she really stole it herself. Thank goodness the friend knew that my daughter was 58miles away that nite and that the boy that stole the truck confessed but, my neighbors saw him on my porch for an hour and 1/2 that same day. The atty also tried to contact that boy and get him to lie and say he didn't steal it. I didn't know that lawyers could tell out and out lies during a trial? Can I do something for them slandering my daughter's name?
The atty also lied during the trial and said my daughter decided not to testify because she didnt want to purjur herself when he knew all the time that she was there ready to testify but, the asst. DA never called on her.
That was a total lie and I thought they could only imply things during a trial.
Thank you,
Sydney

Don't be so surprised.

Along with attorneys, I have seen lying politicians, judges, doctors, architects, engineers, real estate agents, used car salespeople, priests, contractors/builders, auto mechanics, Presidents and Vice-Presidents, White House interns, military officials, IRS workers.............
