NC is the state im in. I have two sets of room mates, one (female) has been there 6 months and has 3 kids the other (male) has been there 3 to 4 weeks and has 1 child. They are both now dating each other. Neither of these two pay any bills, The female has foodstamps monthy though. I work 40 hours a week and recently started college part time. My husband lives in the house as well he also does not work or contribute to bills and we have 1 child of our own. I want all of them out of my house NOW so how do i go about doing this? I am renting and my landlord does not know they are living there because it was suppose to be short term to help them get on thier feet and of couse with the foodstamps & extra hands i seen the opportunity for help. (bad idea) My husband I know legally is a different issues and I think I can verbally work things out with him to move out. The other two donot derserve to live in my house. I come home to a disaster every day. I should not have to come home after work adn school to clean my house when there are three capable adults in the house. I have lost my patience due to them smoking pot in my house. I have yelled slammed acted a fool to get my point across that it is my house and I do not want them smoking in my house. Yet I come home and my house reaks of it! I have had enough and I want them out they are saying they have rights and i cant kick them out so i need to know how to do this. I would really hate to call the police and any of them get into legal trouble I just want them out of my hosue. Any suggestions or process to do this the most civil way?

just to be clear:

you are the only person on the lease, correct?

If so, you will have to evict the guests that became tenants.

as to your husband: you cannot demand he leave the marital home unless a court orders it. To do that you would likely have to file for a legal separation (if available in your state) or divorce. Then you can ask for sole possession of the marital residence.
