I have been renting my current residence now for 5 years. My lawnlord 3 days ago handed me a 30 day eviction notice to get out so that they can do the normal repairs that they should have been doing for the last 5 years and have not. The house has not been painted for the entire time that I have been there and was in need of it when I moved in. Sinks dont work, the tub has plastic taped to it cause I had to replace the piping cause it was leaking horribly. I have asked him 3 times in the last 3 months on these issues before the notice and he said he would need his father to look at them first, which he never has.
My biggest concern is can he evict us in 30 days in order to put the house on the market. I pay month to month, with no written rental agreement. Do i have longer? Is liable to help me find a place?
