Ok I live in California and I am inquring about laws on eviction. I was given a 3 day notice on the 3/24/01 for the March rent owed and on monday the 3/26/01 I tried to give the rent owed plus late fees. But I was told by the manager that the owner would not take the money. Also I was given a legal notice of unlawful detainer dated 3/26/01. As far as I knew I was still within the 3 day time frame. Also the 3 day notice was back dated to the 3/20/01 but was not served till 3/24/01. I would like to know what options I have if any. Another point which I dont know if this relates, is that I am a African American single mother of two and have lived in this complex for over 2 years. All other African tenants have been evicted in the past year.(The apartment has a leaking roof, roaches[sprayed once a year ago],loose flooring, and poor plumbing which I have lived with since the beginning while making minor repairs myself.) Please tell me what I can do.
