I live in Wisconsin, and i have a friend who is being evicted from not paying her rent, her landlord took her to court just yesterday and he told her that she has 24 hours from the time she is served the eviction notice from the sheriff. If she does not vacate the premises, then movers will come to remove her property to storage. I can probably let her move in with me, but a few days is not enough time to move her and her kids out in time. Is this legal? No matter what amount of rent she owes? Why can't she have until the end of the month? Is this a court decision or is it up to yhe landlord? he said he'll make some calls to see if he can buy her some time.Is this real or is he just trying to get her out faster?

This is a desperate situation........but here in the CIVILIZED New York CITY.... If she can get to the judge who signed the order to evict, and pay EVERY last cent of the judgement, that could includes the landlord legal fees court costs, then the judge could stay the eviction...

And the landlord would have to start all over again.... but at least the landlord would have ALL his money.

Why cant she stay till the end of the money?

SHE OWES THE LANDLORD A LOT OF MONEY.. AND THE LANDLORD HAS A RIGHT TO DEMAND THE BILL STOPS INCREASING...TODAY!

she received a court order appearance for 2/13 .Today the landlord called her and said that a sheriff would notify her of eviction in the next couple of days and that she would have 24 hours from the time of the notice. She told him that there was no way that she could move in a couple of days. He said he would find out if he could give her some time.He said he called (something management) and they told him that the paperwork already went through. And there was nothing he could do.She is not paid for Jan or Feb is this why. He never had a problem with late rent before.

Read my other post to you

She can file an appeal in the morning with the judge who issued the eviction notice IF she has ALL the money to pay the landlord.
