Being one month behind in my rent, ( The lease has expired, although the landlord retained the last month) I received a notice demanding five days for payment or eviction. I lost my job in Dec. and am in rental house because my own home burned, and has been in litigation with the city building dept for nearing three years.( Insurance for rental home has expired) That property is now for sale. I do not have funds to pay rent, however am attempting to convert minimal assets to cash to comply.

Is Five Days reasonable time, in this circumstance?

What will landlords next option be if I do not raise the amount due?

Will I come home from looking for a new job and find my things on the street?

Have I any options for more time?

Hey Jimmy what country do you live in?

This is still America, and the landlord must evict you in a court of law, and you have a right to be there and present all your information to a judge.

If the landlord locks you out etc...call the police and they will force him to let you back in, or have him arrested

IIf he doesnt like that.. tell him to go back to his old country.
