I board my horses at another person's stable in South Carolina. There is no rental agreement in writing. I pay a monthly fee. If my "landlord" decided he doesn't want me to board my horses there anymore, what are my legal rights and what are his?

Most states require a lease [locking a rental in for a definite time period] to be in writing. Otherwise, you have a month to month business rental agreement. In that case, you must be given a notice of eviction period either for the time period of payment [ie if paid monthly, then 1 months notice] or in some states, a longer period according to statute.
