What is the name of your state? TN
My tenant owes me Jan and Feb rent. She turned her utilities off Feb 8. I filed a civil warrant against her at the courhouse. Our court date is March 14. She said 1 week ago that she would be out this sat. Feb 19, but that was before she was served with the civil warrant. I think she is going to try and stay. Should I go fill out a detainer warrant and try to evict her. I have advertised on craigslist.org and have several people that are interested in renting the place. I don't know what to do. To me it is the principle. I don't care how much money I have to spend to get her out and get my money. I don't think people should be able to screw other people out of money that they owe someone.

**A: and how did you file this warrant and what did the warrant say? Do you actually know what a civil warrant is?

I have called several lawyers and none of them will help me. A lawyer on the phone told me to fill out a civil warrant but that doesn't get her out. So, should I just go fill out a detainer warrant? Since she has turned off the utilities, can I say that she has abandoned the property. Then can go in and change the locks and get a new tenant in there?

I went down to the courthouse and filled out the paper. I wrote on there my name, the tenant's name, and a brief description of the fact that she owes me $970. Then I put her work address on there where she was to be served. I do not actually know what a warrant is, but I have filled out one on a previous tenant. He left and went to Georgia. I found out his new address there, we went to court in TN, and I got the rent money that he owed me. In this case, I also filled out a civil warrant, but I should have filled out a detainer warrant. Is that correct? I need some good advice, please.
