What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
We were losing our home to foreclosure and given a day to leave and offered $1,000 to leave by that date(Nov.15). We received a letter advertising "WE GUARANTEE you can stay in your home up to 6months rent free" .
Options given were:2months=$250
4months=$295
6months=$775
We decided with the 6 month option. We paid the fee on October 27th and received paperwork to file by Eviction Specialist but after a few weeks we received papers to leave home by Feb.4 eight days before. I contacted specialist and he assured me I would stay in home and he would file papers to override eviction letter.He also offered me another 2 month extension for $200 more. He said he would call me back next day but never called back to this day. I ended up packing and leaving home one day before eviction day!!! we have things in friend's garages and moved in with family :mad: Now he will not call me back and i want my money back!! He caused me and others many inconviniences and headaches. I am still looking for a place to live. Is there a way I can get my $775 back which is the least he can do since he guaranteed 6months in our contract? How much time do I have to file if it is a choice?
All help in this matter is very appreciated!!!! Thank you.

The money is gone. You were scammed. Even if you could find them to sue them, you would lose in court as you have what is known as unclean hands. Move on with your new reality.

Yeah, you got took.

There is no magic way to avoid a pending eviction that doesn't involve paying money to the BANK.
