What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York
Is it a normal legal proceed on an eviction case for the Judge to demand issue of warrant to IMMEDIATELY remove the default tenant, not giving any time for the tenant to find a place and make arrangements to move out after the Court awards the landlord possession of the premises?
The tenant, after loosing his job, has neither financial means nor the ability to immediately move out with his family, including 2 small children. The tenant approached the judge pleading for a few days to move out, even showing the judge the New York State Law RPAPL 749; Real Property Law 235, which says “The landlord must give the tenant a reasonable amount of time to remove all belongings.” (After order of eviction is awarded). The tenant's plea for a reasonable amount of time to move out was denied by the Judge and the landlord's lawyer.
Are there any help out there? Thanks. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

The judges order is unusual (in my opinion) and seems to imply that there is more to this story than is being said. Is this the FIRST legal action you have faced... or is this an on-going saga??

In any case, contact a local attorney or legal aid office.

Yes - you have had the WHOLE court process to arrange for new rental housing. It will certainly be more difficult with an EVICTION on your record!
