Eviction/Section 8 Tenant

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Our tenant, recently awarded section 8, has habitually been late with her portion of the rent owed(still owes all of her portion of June and July) .

Attempts to contact Section 8 at this point have been unsuccessful and we'd like to move forward with eviction of this tenant.

Once the eviction process moves forward, is it true that we may not collect any monies owed?

No. Perhaps in CA acceptance of a deliquent payment constitutes satisfaction and accord...I don't know. But that is not to say that you "may not collect any monies owed." Also, section 8 payments are separate and distinct from private monies, so you may proceed with eviction.
