I'm (laymen) representing grandmother in eviction of her tenant .. lost in JP court .. on Appeal
orignal lawyer backed out...
Appeal bond and filing fees paid as of 11/22/99 ...
Question
Would it be all right to contact the lawyer of tenant and talk about the case?

Would like to avoid going futher due to me handling it .. with upcomming Docketing Statement .. and Appellant briefs .. I assume i have to file those 2

In my opinion, you have nothing to lose by talking to the other person's lawyer; who knows maybe you can agree to a fair settlement. There's certainly nothing legally preventing you from talking to the other side; just be careful not to make any admissions or statements that could hurt your case later.
