Since March of 99 when we pay our
rent to the landlord we have had
to pay in money order or cash due
to two returned checks previously.
Our rent has always been on time
or at the latest 4 days and we
always included the late fee. For
May my sis was helping up out and
wrote a personal check to landlord
and dropped off. Tonight(5/4)
they brought the check and said no
personal checks. i explained they
had got a personal check from her
before and they deny it. They then
gave me the check back and also
gave me papers saying I had 30
days to get out. I have no true
clue why, but would you assume it
was because of the check? Could
anyone offer any advice to me?

My response:

This would only be a guess, also. So, let's see, they told you before "No checks" and then you give them a check. Hmmm. Could that be it? And, then, on top of that, the check is from someone for which they do not have a "contract." Could that be it? Or, could it be because you didn't follow instructions by giving them a check, and they didn't have to accept a check, you were now late on your rent? Could that be it?

I don't really know. Pick one.
