It is still not clear from the forum what the grounds for
eviction are if a landlord claims that he does not want to renew a lease in the Bronx, N.Y. We have been there for 10 years on a yearly contract. He gave us an eviction notice citing some silly reason. What is our recourse?

To pizza;

It doesnt matter what silly reason, a landlord has a right not renew your lease by giving you a 30 day notice before it ends,unless you have 2 months security or last month and security then it MUST be at least 60 days.

UNLESS you are in a buliding that has 6 or more apartments, and bult before 1974, then you would have a rent stabilized lease and he can evict you only under certian conditions.
