Sorry that this is the third time I have written with a question--but this goes with my eviction 1 and 2.
I have been reading some information on eviction. When my landlord was here the other night they gave my sisters check back. I went and got cash for it and took the cash to them. They accepted it. I have been reading that in some states(I am in Ohio)_ if the landlord accepts the money within 3-5 days the eviction can be void. However while thinking of this also.. the landlord never used the exact word eviction. She just said we are terminating your lease and you have 30 days to get out. What are your opinions on this? In your past response you also say possibly so they can raise rent for someone else. I don't think so as our rent has never gone up in the nine years we have been here. They use the property mainly as a tax thing and so on.Thanks.

My response:

You keep attempting to come up with reasons to stay in your apartment. However, you're not understanding the concept of "eviction." It doesn't matter that your landlord accepted the May rent from you. You owed that money anyway. You still are required to pay your rent during your 30 day eviction Notice period. That's the only reason why your landlord accepted the money. You have been late, one too many times, and have paid by check despite the fact you had been instructed not to do so. You have a problem with following instructions, and now, your landlord doesn't want to take it anymore, and wants you out. You must still move out of your apartment when the 30 day Notice has expired, and your clock for making other arrangements is still ticking away. Please make other arrangements as soon as possible, or you'll be out on the street.
