A friends house was searched several months ago and 2 felony charges resulted; possession of cntrlled substnc and possession precursor with intent to manufacture. Thats not what was going on...they found a few old baggie corners and an old container they said contained a precursor. His lawyer filed a motion for discovery, but they are unable to produce any lab reports or evidence. Will these charges be dropped or will case procede?

Sorry - the FA Crystal Ball has really been acting up and the mechanic can't seem to pin down the problem. Compression seems fine on all cylinders, but it's still running rough.

When the police arrest you they add every available charge they can think of to the compliant. None of that means anything. The complaint moves through the system until it lands on a prosecutors desk he'll examine the facts, eliminating or adding charges based on what evidence he has.

A prosecutor doesn't waste time on thin cases he can't win so those are dismissed. People tend to view the police report as the damming document when it fact until you know what the state plans on doing you can't make any predictions. No one ever tells the whole story on these boards so we read bawdlerize versions. It sounds to me like they will want to avoid trial. They got one more trick up their sleeve. They know then cant win so they offer you a plea. Don't take it get a lawyer and go for a dismissal/
