I was friends with this person for 7 years. It ended by a physical confrontation. For a week after I moved out she continued to say things about me to our other room-mate. She no longer lives there either. She is continuing to say bad lies about me to anyone that will listen to her. It's getting to the point to where it is hurting my reputation and causing me to lose friends. She calls up people that I was friends with before she was and tells them all kinds of things.The things she is saying are not true and very hurtful, emotionally and physically damaging. What can I do to stop her from damaging my reputation any further?

specifics would be helpful (slander per se) but you may have a case for slander, we really need more information.

She is saying things like I have slept with everyman that I taled to, I have herpes, I'm a theif because I stole some of her clothes. Those are just the things that have been repeated back to me. I really have no idea all she has said. But sadly, alot of what I just typed goes back on her. She calls up my friends, and starts spouting off all kinds of things and they won't repeat it because it's to awful. I'm in the process of continuing my education, and hopefully soon I'll have my career going. But a horrible reputation/character report could get things slowed down.
